Blooming Medusa
Jellyfish are becoming increasingly common in our oceans. This isn’t an invasion, but rather a sign of how the world is changing. Warmer waters, fewer predators, and new oceanic balances all favor their growth.
Their proliferation has real consequences: jellyfish can clog fishing nets, compete with fish for food, and disrupt the marine food chain. Sometimes, they even impact power plants by blocking water intakes. Marine scientists warn that when jellyfish dominate an ecosystem, they make it less diverse and harder to recover.
