Japanese gardens are undoubtedly one of the great beauties of the world. A place where composition, art, and life carry you away. Some elements make them visually unique: the presence of water with its fish, or raked sand representing its movement; the stones and also its incredible lanterns; the plants, shaped trees, and moss covering everything like velvet; bridges, and in sakura season, snow white blossoms.
I want to learn more, and as I draw, I hear that a garden’s composition should include: space, serenity, venerability, grand views, subtle design, and freshness. I just wanted to offer a few brushstrokes on this vast topic, full of symbolism and craftsmanship.
